    TEXT VERSION OF SLIDE:

    Title: OSHA's Cooperative Programs
Content: Images of the Alliance, VPP, SHARP, Partnership, and OSHA logos

    Speaker Notes:

OSHA has a long history of working with the public to promote safety and health in the workplace by offering compliance assistance services and programs to businesses and organizations. This assistance helps them in working with the Agency, and complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970.

OSHA’s cooperative programs have been very successful and include the Consultation Program and its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), the Strategic Partnership Program, and the Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).

As OSHA developed its first Compliance Assistance Plan in early 2002, the Agency realized there were opportunities to reach a broader audience than the existing cooperative programs were reaching, leading to the development of the Agency’s newest cooperative program, the Alliance Program, in March 2002.
