Addendum to the
AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE

The Alabama - Association General Contractors of America (AlabamaAGC) joins with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Alabama and Mississippi Chapters of the American Society of Safety Engineers (AL/MS-ASSE), the Alabama Department of Education Career/Technical Education Section (ALSDE C/TE), the University of Alabama-Safe State Consultation Program (Safe State) and the Alabama Rural Electric Association in recognizing the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to advance safety and more healthful American workplaces. The AlabamaAGC therefore agrees to join the OSHA, AL/MS - ASSE, ALSDE C/TE, Safe State and Alabama Rural Electric Association Alliance to use their collective expertise to help protect employees' health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing youth workers exposure to the prevalent work hazards in the workplace and school laboratory environment. AlabamaAGC agrees to all of the provisions of the original Alliance signed by OSHA, AL/MS - ASSE, ALSDE C/TE, Safe State and Alabama Rural Electric Association on October 25, 2006. In amending this agreement all participants recognize that OSHA's State Plan and Consultation project partners are an integral part of the OSHA national effort.
OSHA's Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary cooperative relationship with OSHA for purposes such as training and education, outreach and communication and promoting a national dialogue on workplace safety and health. These Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both OSHA and its Alliance participants. By entering into an Alliance with a party, OSHA is not endorsing any of that party's products or services; nor does the Agency enter into an Alliance with the purpose of promoting a particular party's products or services.
An implementation team made up of representatives from the participating organizations will meet to develop a plan of action, determine working procedures, and identify the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least three times per year to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. OSHA will encourage State Plan States' and OSHA Consultation Projects' participation on the team.
