AURORA, Ill. – The Aurora Area Office of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Sauk Valley Community College will co-sponsor an OSHA Safety Day training conference on Tuesday, March 12, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. CDT. It will be held at the community college in Dixon, Ill., located at 173 Illinois Route 2.
More than 300 employees and managers are expected to attend the event, representing a broad range of industries in Illinois, including manufacturing, hospitals, construction and grain. Information sessions covering safety issues related to machine guarding, fall protection, electrical work, and grain bin entry will be offered.
"This conference is a great opportunity for OSHA and the community to come together and share best safety and health practices to help businesses prevent injuries and protect their workers," said Kathy Webb, OSHA's area director in Aurora.
Members of the public wishing to register or request additional information should contact Dana Chacon at 815-835-6365 or Jeanne Depuy at 815-835-6212, or email jeanne.a.depuy@svcc.edu. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees.
