Scott Ketcham
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health
Scott Ketcham is the acting deputy assistant secretary for OSHA in the National Office. He has been in this position since December 2024. Prior to this position, he served as director of the Directorate of Enforcement Programs and director of the Directorate of Construction over a period of six years and was the deputy director of the construction directorate for two years. Before coming to the National Office, Mr. Ketcham served almost 20 years in the field in various capacities, including area director in OSHA’s Anchorage Area Office; assistant area director in the Lubbock, Texas Area Office; acting deputy regional administrator in the Seattle and Philadelphia Regional Offices in addition to serving in the Boise, Little Rock, El Paso and Austin Area Offices as a compliance officer. Before joining OSHA, he spent five years as a staff industrial hygienist with the U.S. Army Medical Activity at Bassett Army Hospital on Fort Wainwright in Alaska.
Mr. Ketcham holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alaska, a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and is a certified safety professional. He serves on the ANSI/ASSP A10 Construction and Demolition Standards Committee as a member. He is also proud for serving 24 years in the Active Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard as a commissioned officer, retiring in 2012.
