Overview
The OSHA and NALP Alliance focuses on providing NALP members and others, including youth, low-literacy level, and non-English speaking workers, with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to manual material handling and slip, trip and fall hazards; and addressing motor vehicle safety issues, and understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Landscapes 2017, October 21-23, 2015, Kentucky Expo Center, Louisville, KY.- Representatives from KY OSHA staffed an Alliance Program exhibit booth, disseminated information, and answered questions.

NALP supported the Agency's 2016 national outreach campaign focusing on the prevention of falls campaign. NALP:- Promoted the campaign on its Website and in publications

- Conducted safety stand-down events focusing on the prevention of falls from ladders in the landscaping industry.

Upcoming Milestones
In the upcoming year, OSHA and NALP plan to undertake several projects through the Alliance to provide NALP members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to manual material handling and slip, trip and fall hazards; and addressing motor vehicle safety issues. For example, NALP will continue to support OSHA's national outreach campaigns focusing on the prevention of heat illness in outdoor workers; and the prevention of falls in construction, including support for National Safety Stand-Down-Week- May 8-12, 2017. Through the Alliance, NALP will develop Safety Tips Cards, including a card focusing on the safe fueling of vehicles, equipment, and containers with liquid fuels. NALP will also work with OSHA's Directorate of Training and Education to finalize the 10-hour training course for workers focusing on the safety and health issues in the landscaping industry. The course will be offered to attendees at the NALP annual conference. NALP will also continue to update and maintain the NALP and OSHA Alliance Webpage that is posted on the organization's Website with information, including links to Alliance agreements, Alliance-developed products, and to other safety and health resources, such as OSHA's Webpage focusing on the prevention of heat illness in outdoor workers. Lastly, NALP will provide OSHA staff with an Alliance exhibit at the Landscapes 2019 conference on October 19-21, in Louisville, Kentucky.
