Overview:
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fort Lauderdale Area Office, and Roofing Contractors Association of South Florida (RCASF) recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safety and health practices and programs to improve American workplaces. To that end, OSHA and RCASF hereby form an Alliance to provide RCASF members and the public with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect workers by reducing and preventing exposure to falls, struck-by, chemical and electrical hazards, as well as other prevalent safety and health hazards in the roofing industry. -

Implementation Team Meetings
During this period a minimum of two implementation meeting were conducted by the Alliance group. Additionally, the Alliance coordinators from each group maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance’s progress and results. During these meeting the RCASF shared value safety information, such as the following:
- Information was shared regarding the RCASF Educational Alliance Community Schools, which include Atlantic Technical College, Coral Springs High School, and Sheridan Technical School.
- Dissemination of safety and health material via e-blast and social media, to foster positive workers health and safety trends.
In addition to these formal meetings, the Alliance coordinators from both groups maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance's progress and results.

Results

Dissemination: Alliance Program participants shared information on OSHA-developed or OSHA Alliance Program-developed tools and resources, OSHA standards/rulemakings, enforcement, or outreach campaigns.

10/05/24During this period, OSHA exhibited at two events sponsored by the RCASF. During the events outreach material was distributed, the Alliance was promoted, and compliance questions were answered. A total of 639 event participants contacted the exhibit booths.
