      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consul General of Mexico in Orlando, Florida, formed an Alliance to provide Mexican National workers throughout Central Florida with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees' health and safety and allow them to exercise their rights fully.

    October 23, 2023 The OSHA Jacksonville Area Office, Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) attended the Mobile Mexican Consulate in Jacksonville, Florida.     November 21, 2023 La Coalición Mexicana de Florida, in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando, held Una Journada Feminista (Feminist Day) to commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women. OSHA’s Orlando CAS and a member of the OSHA Compliance staff (CSHO) were invited to support the event. They also distributed the Spanish versions of several OSHA publications addressing the following topics: worker rights; labor trafficking; suicide prevention; workplace violence; and general OSHA compliance for new businesses.     July 07, 2024 A representative from the US Department of Labor, Wage & Hour Division (WHD) and the OSHA CAS attended the Mobile Mexican Consulate in Jacksonville, Florida. The CAS made a brief statement regarding worker rights and distributed OSHA publications regarding worker rights, OSHA It's the law poster, heat posters, and the OSHA complaint process.     August 19, 2024 During this period, both the Orlando and Jacksonville CASs staffed an outreach booth and provided information to the public. OSHA also provided information on worker's rights, whistleblower protections, heat illness prevention, and general construction safety.     Ceremony May 21, 2024 Memorial Service for Workers Killed in May 14 Bus Crash - Mexican Consulate Amy Wilson, CAS – Orlando AO, Consulate Staff, Victim’s families During this period, OSHA was invited to a memorial service at the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando for the Mexican agricultural workers killed on May 14th, 2024, in a bus crash in Hillsborough Co., Florida.     Ceremony Sept. 12, 2024 Small Business event at the Mexican Consulate. This was held as part of their National Financial Education Week (la Semana de Nacional De Educacion Financiera). The CAS provided publications in Spanish to the business owners on OSHA requirements for new businesses, the Consultation Program flyer with USF contact information, and information on OSHA’s Safety and Health Manual for Small businesses.
