Overview
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consul General of Mexico in Orlando, Florida, formed an Alliance to provide Mexican National workers throughout Central Florida with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees' health and safety and allow them to exercise their rights fully.

AssistanceOctober 10, 2022 The OSHA Orlando Area Office, Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) spoke to representatives of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and local church representatives regarding OSHA’s compliance assistance for employees following hurricane IAN. AssistanceNovember 30, 2022 The CAS attended a Women's Rights event conducted by the Mexican Consulate. During this event, the CAS interacted with consulate staff and provided Spanish language OSHA publications on worker's rights and workplace safety and health. Small Business, Hispanic/Latino Workers, and Women Workers 50 E-mail Alert March 16, 2023 The CAS shared information with the Consulate and the Protection Consul regarding OSHA’s new ability to certify U&T Visas. Hispanic/Latino Workers 1,000 E-mail Alert April 18, 2023 The CAS shared information with the Consulate regarding a free Fall Protection Webinar. The 2023 National Fall Stand-down was also promoted during this communication with the Consulate. Small Business, and Hispanic/Latino Workers 1,000 E-mail Alert June 30, 2023 The CAS shared information with the Consulate regarding free training in Spanish focused on “Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Construction Workers in Confined Spaces.” The training was offered by the University of Florida (UF), Training, Research and Education for Environmental Occupations (TREEO) Center. Small Business, and Hispanic/Latino Workers 1,000 E-mail Alert July 10, 2023 The CAS shared information with the Consulate regarding OSHA’s new National Emphasis Program (NEP) for Falls. The CAS disseminated information on outreach activities and resources, including an outreach letter from the Regional Administrator (RA) for OSHA’s Region IV. The Consulate was also provided with a flyer promoting a free webinar focused on the Falls NEP. Hispanic/Latino Workers, and Small Business 1,000 E-mail Alert July 28, 2023 The CAS shared material regarding OSHA’s Heat Hazard Alert information in English and Spanish. This event with the Mexican Consulate in Orlando, FL, supports the White House's request for OSHA to increase activities to address worker exposures to extreme heat. Hispanic/Latino Workers, and Small Business 1,000 E-mail Alert August 16, 2023 The CAS shared information in Spanish to the Consulate and the Protection Consul on workers’ rights and OSHA’s Whistleblower Protections Program. The Consulate was also informed about the Region IV Webinar on Whistleblower Protections. Hispanic/Latino Workers 1,000 E-mail Alert September 21, 2023 The CAS shared information with the Consulate regarding OSHA’s new National Emphasis Program (NEP) for Warehousing and Distribution NEP. The Consulate was also provided with a flyer promoting a free webinar focused on the Warehousing and Distribution NEP. The Region IV Webinar that was simulcast in English and Spanish.
