Overview
OSHA and Alabama Trucking Association Workers Compensation formed an Alliance to provide ATAWCF members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to hazards on the highway, at pick-up and delivery points, at maintenance shops, and administrative business locations.

Events
- On October 19, 2009, the ATAWCF shared a PowerPoint presentation with OSHA, focused on effective fall protection and slip prevention for workers in the industry.

Events
- In September 2009, OSHA and ATAWCF issued a Hazard Alert Notice regarding falls, which was based on industry trends in Alabama.
- The ATAWCF Alliance was promoted during a meeting with the Chairperson of the American Trucking Association and the group was invited to join the Alliance.
- OSHA Fact Sheet regarding “Whistleblower Protection for Truck Drivers” was distributed to the ATAWCF.

- A reviewed of the ATAWCF’s certified safety program was conducted by OSHA.
