   C. Overview:

   The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consul General of Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia, formed an Alliance to provide Mexican workers throughout the southeast with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety and allow them to exercise their rights fully.

   D. Implementation Team Membership and Contributors:

   The implementation team included representatives from the OSHA and the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia.

   Quarterly implementation team meetings were conducted during the following periods:

   Raising Awareness of OSHA’s Rulemaking and Enforcement Initiatives: The Participants intend to work together to achieve the following goal related to raising awareness of OSHA’s rulemaking and enforcement initiatives: To develop information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards, and to develop ways of communicating such information (e.g., print and electronic media, electronic assistance tools, and links to OSHA’s Web site from the Consulate’s Web site) to Mexican nationals working in Alabama and Georgia and their employers. To speak, exhibit, or appear at the Participants’ conferences, local meetings, or other events. To participate in “Mobile Consulate” activities and events.

   Exhibit, Speech/Presentation, Dissemination	On June 14, 2016, the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia participated in the Construction Industry Symposium conducted by OSHA, the Georgia Tech Onsite Consultation Program and several construction companies. Approximately 60 employers and employee representatives attend this event, which focused on best practices in the construction industry. During this week, events were also conducted in Mobile, Alabama.    Exhibit, Speech/Presentation, Dissemination	October 7 through 12, 2016, the CAS from the OSHA Atlanta-West Area Office participated in the Mexican Consulate’s “Health Week.” Information was disseminated through an exhibit table and presentation was conducted for workers. The event was conducted in Atlanta, Georgia.
   Speech/Presentation, Dissemination	During the period, the CAS from the OSHA Atlanta-West Area Office conducted monthly outreach visits to the Mexican Consulate to inform workers about their workplace safety and health rights.    • OSHA will continue to work cooperatively with the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, Georgia to effectively address safety and health referrals in Region IV.
