    3. Overview:

      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Raleigh Area Office in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Department of the Navy – Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), and the National Association of Aeronautical Examiners (NAAE) unions formed an Alliance. The Alliance goals include providing union members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers. This Alliance is also focused on reducing and preventing exposure to prevalent aircraft maintenance hazards and heat illnesses, as well as hazards unique to the Navy aircraft maintenance environment.

  2. Implementation Team Meetings

    • December 11, 2017, implementation team formal planning meeting, focused on establishing the Alliance’s safety goals and expectations for the year.
    • In addition to its formal meeting, the Alliance representatives met and/or communicated monthly, throughout the reporting period, to track the group’s progress and results.
  3. Dissemination: Alliance Program participant shared information on OSHA-developed or OSHA Alliance Program-developed tools and resources, OSHA standards/rulemakings, enforcement, or outreach campaigns.
