    3. Overview:

      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Georgia Federal Highway Administration (Georgia FHA), Georgia Highway Contractors Association (GHCA), Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA), Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), Georgia Tech Research Institute (Georgia Tech), 3M, Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia), Lamar Outdoor Advertising (Lamar), Georgia Power, Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA), Pike Electric, National Safety Council (NSC) – Georgia Chapter, and Comcast formed an Alliance to share their collective expertise to safeguard general and construction industry workers exposed work zone and struck-by hazards.

    4. Implementation Team Memberships and Contributors:

      The implementation team included representatives from all of the Alliance participants.

      OSHA, GDOT, Georgia FHA, GHCA, GUCA, ACCG, Georgia Tech, 3M, AGC Georgia, Lamar, Georgia Power, CEFGA, Pike Electric, NSC Georgia Chapter and Comcast.

    In addition to these meetings, the Alliance coordinator and the group members maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance’s progress and results.

    Dissemination/Presentation December 17, 2019 During this period, Ms. Kathi Dopson, National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), conducted a presentation for the Georgia Struck-By Alliance group. The presentation was focused on NAWIC's national Alliance with OSHA, which was developed to address the following issues impacting women in construction: PPE; Sanitation; and Ergonomics.     The AGC Safety Committee members, OSHA and the GA Struck- By Alliance members, led this activity. Meetings were convened the following dates for event plannings: October 8, 2019; October 11, 2019; October 24, 2019; and November 5, 2019.

    On November 2019, an article about the campaign was published in the OSHA Region IV newsletter. Article were also published in OSHA QuickTakes and the AGC Forum magazine.

    On February 19, 2020, the Suicide Prevention campaign was officially kicked-off with a short-term billboard donated by Lamar Outdoor Advertising (Lamar). On August 31, 2020, the suicide prevention billboard was re-installed by Lamar and it remained posted until the end of September, in support of "World Suicide Prevention Day."

    A power point presentation was developed by OSHA, AGC Safety Committee members and the Georgia Department of Public Health for use as an outreach tool for the campaign.

    Speech/Present-ation/ Training January 6 -10, 2020 Winter Weather Safety Stand-Down AGC Georgia members and othersJanuary 2020, construction jobsites across Georgia were encouraged to cease work and participate in a Winter Weather Safety Stand-Down. This event led by the OSHA and the AGC Georgia. Through-out the State - Atlanta GA Construction, Small Business, Hispanic/ Latino Workers and Transportation 3 companies, 12 job sites and 120 workers participated
    Speech/Present-ation/ Training April 20-24, 2020 Georgia Struck-by Safety Stand-Down AGC Georgia members and others April 20 - 24, 2020, construction jobsites across Georgia were encouraged to cease work and participate in a Safety Stand-down led by the AGC Georgia. Struck-by Alliance members promoted this Stand-Down through a variety of venues, as well as the organization's contact list.

    Due to COVID-19, registration details were not maintained for the Struck-By Stand-Down in 2020. During previous years the event had the following level of support:

    - 2013 - 21 Companies, 104 Worksites and 1,435 Workers

    - 2014 - 25 Companies, 500 Worksites and 17,000 Workers

    - 2015 - 25 Companies, 400 Worksites and 15,000 Workers

    - 2016 - 16 Companies, 837 Worksites and 6,496 Workers

    - 2017 - 60 companies, 430 worksites and 25,400 Workers

    - 2018 - 21 companies, 442 worksites and 19,824 Workers

    - 2019 - 25 companies, 1,426 jobsites, 20,695 workers

    Speech/Present-ation/ Training August 10-16, 2020 FY 2020 Safe + Sound Campaign. AGC Georgia, OSHA and Georgia Tech The AGC Georgia, OSHA and Georgia Tech, which are members of the Alliance group, supported OSHA's FY 2020 Safe + Sound Campaign. Atlanta GA Safety and Health Program 1,000+
    Outreach Event   CEFGA Career Expo Various Alliance Members Members of the Alliance group supported the CEFGA World of Construction in a variety of areas, including serving as volunteers, judges and exhibitors.
