Alliance Overview:
The Toledo Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (TEJATC) Alliance provides TEJATC members, OSHA staff and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to electrical, confined space, and fall hazards and by providing information on health hazards such as heat stress and noise exposure, and understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act).

- January 20, 2016 - OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- February 11, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- February 18, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- March 16, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- April 20, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- May 18, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- August 15, 2016 – OSHA presented during a 30-hour course at the TEJATC.
- August 30, 2016 – The TEJATC hosted OSHA staff for a ½ day electrical safety training program. The program was developed with the Region V Training Committee, and included attendees from the Toledo and Cleveland Area Offices.
- Outreach and Communication
- May 2 - 6, 2016 – The TEJATC promoted the National Fall Stand-down Initiative at their training center. Posters and other information were provided to students and instructors.
- Promoting the National Dialogue on Safety and Health
- Instructors from the TEJATC presented a program on Arc Flash hazards in conjunction with the annual Northwest Ohio Safety and Health Day event.

- Results
- The OSHA/TEJATC Alliance provided an opportunity to increase the safety and health knowledge of IBEW members and OSHA staff in Northwest Ohio. OSHA personnel provide current occupational safety and health information to instructors and IBEW journeymen and apprentices utilizing the training services at the TEJATC. OSHA staff in turn gets instruction on electrical issues, wind tower safety, fall protection, electrical testing equipment and solar cell installation and maintenance.

The Alliance was renewed on January 8, 2016 for a period of three years.
