The grantee provided heat illness prevention training to employees and employers in the Houston area. They provided three levels of training: 1). managers and supervisors training for those who are responsible for developing and implementing heat stress prevention programs, 2). train-the-trainer training to 40 English and bi-lingual Spanish speaking worker, and 3). worker training using site-specific training materials and policies. The targeted audience included small businesses and Hispanic workers in the construction and general industries. The grantee developed training materials to include hands-on practices and physiological factors. Training was in English and Spanish. |
