Abstract:
Schedules an informal public hearing concerning the proposed
revision of certain recordkeeping requirements in 1910 for tests,
inspections, and maintenance checks. Under the proposal, compliance
with the substantive requirements would be certified by the employer
instead of being documented with written records (51 FR 312, January
3, 1986). Two of the 22 provisions covered by this proposal for
deletion. OSHA proposed to remove the recordkeeping requirements at
1910.106(g)(1) (i)(g), which requires service stations to maintain
inventory records so they could be used to determine leakage of
flammable and combustible liquids because the interests served by
that requirement were outside OSHA's jurisdiction. OSHA proposed to
delete 1910.440(a)(1), which referred employers of commercial divers
to the injury and fatality recordkeeping requirements of 29 CFR
1904, because the cross reference was considered redundant. Notices
of intention to appear at the informal public hearing be postmarked
by April 1, 1986. Testimony and all evidence which will be offered
into the hearing record must be received by April 8, 1986. The
hearing will begin on April 15, 1986 in Washington, D.C.
