    Approval of Oregon State Standards
Abstract:

OSHA has approved the following State standards submitted by Oregon: 1910.1048, Formaldehyde; 1910.120, Hazardous Waste Operation & Emergency Response; 1910.1025, Lead; 1926 subpart P, Excavations, and subpart Q, Concrete and Masonry Construction; 1910.147, Control of Hazardous Energy Sources (Lockout/Tagout); and 1926.550(g), Crane or Derrick Suspended Personnel Platforms. The State standard amendments for Formaldehyde, Hazardous Waste, Lead, and Concrete and Masonry Construction are identical to Federal standard amendments, while those for Lockout/Tagout and Crane or Derrick Suspended Personnel Platforms are at least as effective as comparable Federal standard amendments. Differences between State & Federal standards amendments for Excavations and Powder-actuated Tools are minimal. The standards are approved; however, OSHA reserves the right to reconsider those for Lockout/Tagout, Crane or Derrick Suspended Personnel Platforms, Excavations and Powder-actuated Tools, should substantial objections be submitted to the Assistant Secretary. Decision effective 4/26/91.
