Extension of the National Emphasis Program on Amputations (NEP) until September 30, 2019

This memorandum directs Regional Offices and State Plan Programs to continue inspections under OSHA’s Instruction, CPL 03-00-019, National Emphasis Program on Amputations, until September 30, 2019. This emphasis program has allowed OSHA to address amputation hazards at more than 9,400 worksites since the program was initiated in 2015. Please continue to code the inspections in accordance with Section XVIII, Reporting, Recording and Tracking.
