- MEMORANDUM FOR:
- REGIONAL ADMINISTRATORS
EXECUTIVE STAFF - FROM:
- LOREN SWEATT
PRINCIPAL DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY - SUBJECT:
- Revisions to Policy Impacting Appropriate Test Standards at Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories
This memorandum implements OSHA’s policy revisions to CPL 01-00-004, NRTL Program Policies, Procedures and Guidelines (NRTL Program Directive) published October 1, 2019 regarding the requirements for an Appropriate Test Standard recognized by the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Program. Effective immediately, OSHA is implementing the following policy changes to the NRTL Program Directive:
Chapter 2, VIII C
The October 1, 2019 publication of the NRTL Program Directive accidentally omitted the reference to the replacement for ISO Guide 7, ISO/IEC 17007 - Conformity Assessment – Guidance for drafting normative documents suitable for use for conformity assessment. Chapter 2, VIII C is therefore modified to add:
- The test standard shall be consistent with the applicable requirements of ISO/IEC 17007:2009 -Conformity Assessment – Guidance for drafting normative documents suitable for use for conformity assessment.
