US Department of Labor, HC Beck LTD School of Construction sign alliance to educate employers, keep workers safe

Alliance promotes workplace rights for workers, responsibilities of employers

Alliance description:  OSHA's Dallas and Fort Worth Area offices and the HC Beck LTD have signed a 2-year alliance to educate employers and employees on work hazards. OSHA and Beck LTD will continue emphasis on construction, providing information, guidance and training resources that will help protect the health and safety of workers. The alliance is also focused on helping employers understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Through the alliance, the organizations will continue to address hazards to the construction workforce.

Background:  OSHA's Alliance Program works with groups committed to worker safety and health to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses. These groups include unions, consulates, trade or professional organizations, businesses, faith- and community-based organizations and educational institutions. OSHA and the groups work together to develop compliance assistance tools and resources, share information with workers and employers and educate workers and employers about their rights and responsibilities.
