MOBILE, Ala. -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is adding the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center to its "Wiregrass Safety Alliance," a group of organizations committed to helping small businesses in the wiregrass area of Alabama, Georgia and Florida with no-cost safety and health training, and information. A signing ceremony will be held Thursday at Fort Rucker. Established in 2003, the alliance is currently comprised of OSHA's Mobile area office; the Dothan Chamber of Commerce; Troy State University's Continuing Education Center, Dothan campus; the Wiregrass Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers; the Dothan/Houston County Emergency Management Agency; and Durden Outdoor Displays Inc. "The primary goal of this alliance is to promote the value of safety and health to small businesses in the wiregrass area," said Ken Atha, OSHA's Mobile area director.
