US Department of Labor seeks nominations for membership on
Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and HealthWASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is seeking nominations for membership on the Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.
Committee nominees should have a strong interest in the safety and health of workers in the shipyard, longshoring and commercial fishing industries. The Secretary of Labor will select 15 members to create a broad-based, balanced, and diverse committee representing the interests of employers, employees, safety and health professional organizations, government organizations with interests or activities related to the maritime industry, academia and the public.
Members serve a two-year term, which begins from the date of the Secretary’s appointment to the committee. The advisory committee meets approximately twice per year.
Submit nominations and supporting materials electronically to the Federal eRulemaking Portal. The deadline for submitting nominations is Jan. 13, 2023. Read the Federal Register notice for additional information.
MACOSH advises the Secretary of Labor in formulating maritime industry standards and matters pertaining to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act related to the maritime industry.
