WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor has selected Michael Rivera as the new Regional Administrator for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Philadelphia region.

Prior to accepting this position, Rivera was the Deputy Regional Administrator for the OSHA Philadelphia region. During his 28-year tenure with OSHA, he has held positions as an area director, assistant area director, compliance assistance specialist and compliance officer in offices in the Dallas region.

Trained as an industrial hygienist, he holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, and has a strong background in general industry, maritime and construction safety and health.

"Mike Rivera has an exemplary career of nearly 30 years dedicated to protecting workers' safety and health," said Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health Loren Sweatt.
