At 12:19 p.m. on August 9, 2020, an employee worked as a surgical nurse at the hospital and tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. On July 10, 2020, the employee was admitted to BayCare Hospital in Winter Haven, FL. On August 8, 2020, the employee died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, FL due to cerebral hemorrhage from COVID-19 infection.
