Investigation Summary

On November 19, 2020, an employee who worked for a County Sheriff's Department was reported to have contracted COVID-19. On that date, the employee began to feel ill and left work early. The employee was tested for COVID-19 and received a positive result on the same day. Over the course of the next three weeks, the employee was in and out of the hospital with complications from COVID-19. For unknown reasons on December 12, 2020, the employee had checked himself out of the hospital. On that date, when his employer conducted a wellness check, the employee was found dead in his home.
