Investigation Summary
An employee was working as a resident supervisor for a firm that housed people who had crossed the border from Mexico into the United States. The residents were housed until suitable housing had been found for them. The employee contracted COVID-19. Several of the residents tested positive for COVID-19, and the employer assumed that the employee contracted COVID-19 at work because of this. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 on April 17, 2021. He was hospitalized on April 27, 2021. At 5:30 a.m. on May 19, 2021, he died.
