29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a. On or about April 11, 2017, the employer failed to provide authorized employee training prior to employees engaging in servicing and maintenance activities on machine such as (but not limited to) resistance welders, wire cutting machines, wire drawing machines, cold forming machines, wire bending machines, and wire mesh manufacturing machines, such as (but not limited to) setting up, unjamming, adjusting, and cleaning. The employees performed these servicing and maintenance activities without isolating and controlling hazardous energy sources, thereby exposing employee to struck-by, caught-in, and amputation hazards.
