Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and crush-by hazards while operating a powered industrial truck (PIT) without a seatbelt: a) Lumber/Mill Yard (Facility): On or about August 01, 2017, and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to struck-by and crush-by hazards in that employees were allowed to operate PITs such as but not limited to the Taylor THD160 "Big Red" forklift without wearing the seatbelts.
