Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.200(g)(1): The employer failed to post legible traffic control signs and failed to protect employees by the use of traffic control devices at points of hazard. a. On or about July 11, 2019, at the jobsite located near the intersection of Main Street & Taylor Rd in Thonotosassa, FL employees were working in a trench next to a public road and the vehicular traffic and/or traffic control was not addressed. The trench was 5 feet 3 inches deep, 16 feet long and the edge of the south wall was 16 inches from the solid white line on the road. There was one orange safety cone on the pavement near each end of the trench, and there were no warning signs or other traffic control devices being used beside the two safety cones. Among other methods, one feasible method would be using an approved Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) permit from Hillsborough County.
