29 CFR 1910.333(a)(1): Live parts to which an employee would be exposed were not deenergized before the employee worked on or near them, unless the employer could demonstrate that denergizing introduced additional or increased hazards or was infeasible due to equipment design or operational limitations: a) On or about 10/13/2022, Kitchen/Pantry Area, When an employee was exposed to 277-volts of electrical power from an electrical branch circuit, the employer failed to follow safety related work practices such as deenergizing the electrical system prior to the replacement of the lighting fixtures. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
