29 CFR 1915.73(d): When employees were exposed to unguarded edges of decks, platforms, flats, or similar flat surfaces, more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the edges were not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(j)(1) and (2). (a) Stern of the barge Integrity; On or about December 5, 2022, the employer exposed employees to falls of approximately 41 feet, 8 inches from the starboard side deck to the floor of the drydock while performing painting related tasks near a gap in the guardrail approximately 48 inches wide.
