Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the recognized hazard of exposure to accidental releases of toxic vapors: (a) InterCall- Employees were not promptly evacuated from their place of employment after being exposed to toxic vapors and after an evacuation order from the Fire Chief. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to evacuate promptly upon the recognition of a serious hazard such as a release of toxic vapors and/or upon the order of a knowledgeable safety or health official. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
