Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: HEAT
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or before 7/17/02, at 7855 Tennyson Court, Boca Raton, employees working on a roof were exposed to an extreme heat hazard which resulted from the employer's failure to train its employees in the recognition and avoidance of the hazards associated with working in an extremely hot environment as referenced in NIOSH publication "Working in Hot Environments". One feasible and effective means of abatement may include, but not limited to: Implement and maintain a heat stress program in accordance with NIOSH publications "Working in Hot Environments". PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
