OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: A) Terex Utilities, Inc. DBA Terex Services, conducting work at 1300 Marion-Agosta Road, Marion, OH 43302: On or about September 16, 2016, the employer did not ensure that an employee who intended to ride the Whiting 30-ton overhead crane (Serial #12171) service platform into an area with lower overhead clearance was adequately protected from the overhead hazard while working the West Bay of the Press Room. Among other methods, a feasible abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Standard (ASME) B30.2-2005: Overhead and Gantry Cranes (Top Running Bridge, Single or Multiple Girder, Top Running Trolley Hoist), including Section 2-1.7.1: Construction of Service Platforms.
