29 CFR 1910.147(c)(9):Notification of employees. Affected employees shall be notified by the employer or authorized employee of the application and removal of lockout devices or tagout devices. Notification shall be given before the controls are applied, and after they are removed from the machine or equipment. On or about July 7, 2022, the employer did not ensure affected employees performing cleaning and sanitation of the Line 1 Deboning Machine inclined conveyor were notified by the employer or authorized employees of the removal of lockout devices and/or before the controls were applied to the Line 1 Deboning Machine horizontal exit conveyor, located adjacent to and approximately 10 inches above the inclined conveyor that was being cleaned and sanitized by the affected employees.
