29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) Asphalt Tank 150 - On or about February 20, 2024, the employer failed to ensure an energy control procedure was developed and documented for the control of hazardous energy when an employee was engaged in a service and/or maintenance task, such as line breaks on Asphalt Tank 150. As a result, an employee was hospitalized and sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to both hands, neck, and lower back when hot asphalt sprayed out at the employee and the surrounding area.
