29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Training and communication. The employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. The training shall include the following: (A) Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a) On or about July 3, 2024, Monti, Inc. did not train press operators as authorized employees to recognize hazardous energy sources, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control prior to an employee clearing jams in the point of operation of the Minster 400 ton part revolution press. b) On and after July 9, 2024 Monti, Inc. did not train press operators as authorized employees to recognize hazardous energy sources, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control prior to employees performing servicing and maintenance tasks to include but not limited to cleaning and die changes for the SEYI SAG-440, Stamtec GTX-300, Stamtec G1-80 part revolution presses in the Stamping Department.
