29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3)(i)(A)(1): When an unqualified person was working in an elevated position near overhead lines with voltages to ground rated at 50 kV or below, the location shall be such that the person and the longest conductive object he or she may contact cannot come closer to any unguarded, energized overhead line than the following distances, therefore exposing the employee to the risk of injuries caused by contacting energized current carrying parts. These may include electric shock, severe burns, and electrocution. a. On or about June 13, 2022, employees who were unqualified persons were operating a grapple hook dump truck, delivering a load of compost, less than 10 feet from the powerlines, wherein the grapple hook was maneuvered such that the hook could make physical contact with the overhead powerlines; therefore, exposing the employees to an electrical contact hazard.
