29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): The employer permitted respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surfaces of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function. a. On or about August 13, 2019, and at times previously, in the chemical mixing and plant grow areas, the employer allowed an employee, to use a tight fitting, half or full face, respirator, during the mixing and spray application of hazardous chemical type pesticides and fertilizers, with facial hair that interfered with the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face, exposing the employee to health hazards such as, but limited to acute and chronic respiratory injury and illness.
