29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from the hazards identified. (a) On or about October 2, 2019 at die cast machine #2, HPM Castmaster II 400 ton SN#74159 and die cast machine #3, HPM Castmaster II 600 ton SN#78043, the employer did not select and require the use types of personal protective equipment that would protect the die cast employees from the burn hazards identified by the employer in that 1250 degree Fahrenheit molten aluminum was spitting from the top of the die cast machines onto the employees below who were only provided with safety glasses, cotton and synthetic sleeves, gloves, and a combustible plywood barrier. The Yoder Industries, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1244399, citation number 1, item number 3 and affirmed as a final order on October 11, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 3009 Production Court, Dayton, Ohio 45414.
