29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) are not kept free and unobstructed: a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent obstruction hazards in exit routes as demonstrated on or about May 23, 2022, and times prior, in the stockroom, where employees move, store and retrieve stock. During the inspection, the stockroom area was filled with merchandise and products blocking the exit route. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1480368, citation number 3, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on May 17, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 550 Getty Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. dba Family Dollar was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1435006, Citation number 1, Item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on January 6, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1301 Edward Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401. To abate this hazard in the future , the employer must ensure that emergency exit routes are kept free and unobstructed.
