Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary, whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: (a) 935 Hill Church Road, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania - Employees used chain saws on the ground to cut tree limbs and other tree sections into smaller sizes to fit into the chipper. The employer did not require employees to wear chainsaw-resistant leg protection (chaps), and the employees did not wear chainsaw-resistant leg protection (chaps), exposing the employees to the hazard of contact with the cutters and moving chains of the saws, on or about January 16, 2023. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and shall state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement
