29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who was exposed to fall hazards that enabled each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) 2nd & Ocean Ave., Manasquan: Two GS Brito Contracting LLC employees installing sheathing on the roof of a three story new construction residential structure were not using any form of fall protection and were thus exposed to a fall hazard of over 30 feet from the roof's edge to the ground. The employer had not trained each employee exposed to fall hazards to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Observed on or about 12/26/2013. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
