29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): (a) The company did not assess non-destructive inspection and cleaning work tasks that required employees to perform pneumatic wire brush cleaning of drill head stem pipe threaded end sections. Non-Destructive Inspection employees were not protected from the flying particulates/debris materials removed from the threaded end drill stem pipe sections.
