Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(I): Flexible cords and cables used for temporary wiring were not protected from damage: The employer is failing to protect employees from electric shock hazards while utilizing electric extension cords during construction activities on site. Workers were observed utilizing damaged extension cords running from the power generator on site. The employer is failing to properly protect the cords utilized on this job site from damage due to vehicle and forklift traffic through the site. This was most recently documented at the corner of 204th St. and Maple St., Elkhorn, Nebraska on or about June 21th, 2017 when the employer had run over the extension cord being used to power tools with the rough terrain forklift resulting in damage to the extension cord.
