29 CFR 1926.416(e)(1): Worn or frayed electric cords or cables were used: The employer is failing to protect employees from electric shock hazards while utilizing electric extension cords during construction activities on site. Workers were observed utilizing damaged extension cords running from the power generator on site. The employer is failing to properly inspect the cords utilized on this job site to identify damaged or defective cords prior to employees being allowed to use them. This was most recently documented at the corner of 204th St. and Maple St., Elkhorn, Nebraska on or about June 21th, 2017 when the employer had employees using a skill saw to cut sheathing for the roof of the commercial building being constructed at this job site.
