29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls was acquired by employees. a. Tiffin Metal Products Co. located in Tiffin, Ohio: On or about March 6, 2015, the employer did not ensure employees involved in setting up equipment such as but not limited to the 65 ton Garco full revolution mechanical power press located in Building #2 and the Piranha iron worker located in building #1 were provided with information and training on the following topics: 1. The recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources; 2. The type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace; 3. Methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control.
