29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Location: a) On the running platform/car sling for elevator shaft B prior to Site Safety Manager warning: On or about 01/23/18, employees were exposed to falling up to approximately 67 feet from the running platform/car sling down to the bottom of the elevator shaft pit. The employees were not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. b) On the running platform/car sling for elevator shaft B after to Site Safety Manager warning: On or about 01/23/18, an employee were exposed to falling up to approximately 94 feet from the running platform/car sling down to the bottom of the elevator shaft pit. The employee was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.
