29 CFR 1910.29(k)(1)(i): Protection from falling objects; the employers must ensure toeboards used for falling object protection are erected along the exposed edge of the overhead walking-working surface for a length that is sufficient to protect employees below. On or about April 16, 2018 at 4301 W Wisconsin Avenue Sp. #432 in Appleton in the storage room, employees were walking/working below a storage loft with an open edge ten and one half (10.5) feet above surface level without toe-boards installed. Employees work in pairs using a ladder to remove and place items in the loft and walk below the edge to access items stored at surface level and to access the restroom.
