29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2)(iii): Monthly inspections of hooks, with a certification record which includes the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and the serial number, or other identifier, of the hook inspected, were not performed; a) Engine Dismantling Stations, 100 Atlantic Avenue, Building J, Camden NJ: Employees were exposed to struck by and crushing injuries when working next to engines suspended by chains set on hooks with non-functioning latches. Inspections to identify and replace the damaged/non-functioning latches had not performed by the company. Condition observed on or about 07/08/19. NOTE: IN ADDTION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
