29 CFR 1926.652(g)(1)(ii): Shields shall be installed in a manner to restrict lateral or other hazardous movement of the shield in the event of the application of sudden lateral loads. On or about, January 12, 2024, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while working in an excavation with shoring that was greater than 6' apart from piston to piston.
